The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended December 31, 2012.
I didn’t want the hop to come to end, and with Jennifer’s permission, I decided to re-launch Book Blogger Hop on Friday, February 15th, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt just like before. The hop’s purpose will remain the same as it will give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question: Name one book that scared you so badly that you couldn’t finish reading it. (submitted by Billy)
Answer: In 1988 (I was a senior in high school and yes, I’m old), I decided to read Stephen King. My first book was The Shining and it totally freaked my out. However, I did finish it. I was very proud of myself for finishing it; so I decided to try another King novel. This one I didn’t finish because it scared the living pee out of me! Here it is:
Pet Cemetery by Stephen King
Sometimes dead is better….When the Creeds move into a beautiful old house in rural Maine, it all seems too good to be true: physician father, beautiful wife, charming little daughter, adorable infant son — and now an idyllic home. As a family, they’ve got it all…right down to the friendly cat. But the nearby woods hide a blood-chilling truth — more terrifying than death itself…and hideously more powerful.
I’m to chicken to read this book! Back soon after the movie came out I watched it a slumber party (for 3rd graders – no idea what the mom was thinking!) and it absolutely terrified me. I had nightmares for months. I’ve thought about picking this one up to face my fears but so far I haven’t worked up the courage!

One Stephen King book was enough for me…I am not even sure of the name or if I even finished it. 🙂

I love the Pet Sematary movie! Even though I love a good scare, I’ve never read Stephen King, which I really need to do! Happy reading! 😀
